Mac vs. PC

We’ve all seen the Mac vs. PC ads on TV and the Internet portraying the superiority of the Mac’s hardware and software.  Believe it or not, many people believe that these skewed commercials actually reflect reality.  I for one, thoroughly enjoy the hilarity of them… at least until it hits me that the reason Apple continues to make more is because they’re working.

This picture illustrates the tone of the commercials perfectly.

SlideRocket Rocks!

No more death by PowerPoint… SlideRocket is taking the presentation slideshow to a whole new level. The initial launch is a web only software as a service product with plans to have a full offline client in a year. This demo from their website and this one from Robert Scoble show SlideRocket pulling in images from Flickr, searching a quote database, displaying flash slide backgrounds, and giving the author the ability to share the slideshow with specific users and ensuring that it doesn’t fall into the hands of competitors or leak to the media. SlideRocket allows you to more quickly author and design much richer slideshows than Keynote or PowerPoint have ever imagined.

Take the time to view the demo video. Though still in private beta SlideRocket will launch to the public soon as a free or paid service.

iPhone Goes Enterprise!

iPhone Roadmap

Apple announced a new program today, the iPhone Enterprise Beta Program.

Announcing the iPhone Enterprise Beta Program: a unique opportunity for IT departments to try iPhone 2.0 software before general release. If your company is selected to participate, you’ll test new iPhone enterprise features within your corporate environment, then provide Apple with valuable feedback.

The major new announcement is the ability to sync email, contacts, etc. with Microsoft Exchange… wirelessly via EDGE or Wi-fi. Once proved successful, Apple could break down the doors with a crossover personal & corporate PDA/phone. The first true device to deliver a single device that pleases both markets.

Additionally, Apple has partnered with Cisco and enabled VPN functionality on the iPhone as well.
